Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity seeks an experienced pharmacist to serve as a working Director of Pharmacy (DOP) in a critical access hospital setting. Situated in Lakeview, OR, this role offers a contract-to-hire arrangement with a 13-week initial assignment and potential for direct hire.
The hospital is a 25-bed facility with a daily census averaging 10 inpatients. The pharmacy operates with a staff of two technicians daily, using Cerner for order entry and Omnicell automation systems. The position requires a hands-on management style, where you will oversee daily pharmacy operations, manage and staff the pharmacy team, and perform inpatient pharmacist duties. Sterile compounding according to USP 797 clean room guidelines is part of the responsibilities, including verifying IV admixtures prepared by technicians.
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No on-call duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as working Director of Pharmacy providing inpatient pharmacy services
- Manage pharmacy operations and daily workflow
- Supervise pharmacy staff and support staff development
- Perform sterile compounding in a compliant, safe manner
- Review and verify IV preparations produced by technicians
Qualifications:
- Current Oregon pharmacy license
- Proven inpatient pharmacy experience
- Experience managing pharmacy operations and staff
- Skilled in sterile compounding and knowledgeable of USP 797 clean room standards
- Familiarity with Cerner and Omnicell systems preferred
