Job Title: MEP General Foreman – Commercial Construction
Location: DFW Metroplex, TX (On-site)

Salary: $30.00 - $50.00 hourly

Role OverviewThe MEP General Foreman leads field execution of commercial mechanical construction projects typically ranging from $1M to $25M+. This role is responsible for overseeing HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal installation activities, coordinating manpower and materials, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep commercial mechanical construction experience who can manage multiple trades, interpret drawings, solve field challenges, and maintain productivity while upholding the company's safety and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities- Lead and supervise HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal installation crews on commercial construction projects
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and tools to meet project milestones
- Review blueprints, BIM models, shop drawings, and specifications; identify conflicts and collaborate with project management to resolve issues
- Oversee installation of mechanical systems including ductwork, chilled water piping, hydronic systems, process piping, plumbing systems, and HVAC equipment
- Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, and internal project management teams to maintain workflow and project sequencing
- Monitor productivity, quality control, and installation accuracy; perform field inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards; complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Track labor hours, material usage, and job progress; provide updates to project managers and company leadership
- Troubleshoot field challenges and implement corrective solutions quickly to avoid schedule impacts
- Support prefabrication and BIM coordination efforts to maximize field efficiency and productivity
- Mentor, train, and develop foremen, journeymen, and apprentices across multiple mechanical disciplines
- Support change order documentation and communicate scope adjustments clearly to management
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with company quality expectations
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship as sponsorship is not available for this position
Background in commercial mechanical subcontracting required; GC-side, owner's rep, and facilities maintenance backgrounds do not qualify
10+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience with demonstrated leadership as a Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role
Strong experience managing multiple mechanical disciplines including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and/or sheet metal
Proven experience on large commercial, healthcare, mission-critical, industrial, manufacturing, or data center projects
OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 strongly preferred
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and BIM coordination documents
Proven ability to manage crews, maintain productivity, and enforce safety standards
Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and job site safety practices
Ability to function in outdoor and active construction environments including heat, cold, humidity, elevated work, and confined spaces
Strong communication skills with field crews, project managers, subcontractors, and general contractors
Experience coordinating multiple trades and large field labor forces
Familiarity with SMACNA, plumbing, and piping installation standards preferred
Experience with BIM coordination, prefabrication, and lean construction practices preferred
Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction software preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites throughout the DFW Metroplex
