Privacy & Digital Risk Class Action Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Privacy & Digital Risk Class Action Litigation Associate with 3–7 years of experience to join a premier and globally recognized Digital Assets and Data Management practice in Denver. This is an exceptional opportunity for a litigator interested in privacy, cybersecurity, data breach, and class action litigation involving some of the world's largest and most recognizable companies.

The ideal candidate will have litigation experience, a strong interest in privacy and cybersecurity issues, and experience handling complex class action matters.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in privacy and data security litigation matters
• Defend companies in class actions arising from data security incidents and privacy-related claims
• Develop litigation strategy and manage cases through all phases of litigation
• Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other substantive filings
• Conduct legal research and analyze emerging privacy and cybersecurity laws
• Assist clients in responding to litigation arising from data breaches and cyber incidents
• Collaborate with attorneys across privacy, cybersecurity, and litigation teams on complex matters
• Advise clients regarding evolving privacy and digital risk issues

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of litigation experience
• Demonstrated interest in privacy, cybersecurity, and class action litigation
• Experience with privacy litigation and/or class action defense
• Familiarity with privacy-related statutes such as:
  • BIPA
  • FCRA
  • FACTA
  • Other state and federal privacy laws
• Understanding of consumer class actions, including:
  • Article III standing issues
  • Rule 12(b)(6) dismissal strategies
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities
• Law review or comparable research and writing experience preferred
• AmLaw 100 experience preferred
• Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice in Colorado or ability to waive into the Colorado Bar required
• California Bar admission is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Expected salary range: $220,000 – $260,000
• Compensation determined based on experience, education, training, and other relevant factors
