QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruction & Student Development
- Deliver EMS education through classroom, laboratory, clinical, and field-based instruction
- Evaluate student performance through direct observation, clinical rotations, and field internship ride-alongs
- Administer and evaluate assessments in alignment with program and certification requirements
- Ensure compliance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and student accommodations
- Engage students using active learning strategies, including project-based learning, mentoring, and service-learning opportunities
- Advise and support students regarding educational progress, certification readiness, and career pathways
Program Operations & Curriculum
- Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments
- Ensure curriculum aligns with EMS education standards and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and maintain lab environments, including equipment setup, demonstration, and safety compliance
- Operate EMS equipment in accordance with training and safety standards
- Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and competency documentation
Partnerships, Outreach & Program Development
Develop and maintain relationships with EMS agencies, hospitals, and clinical training sites
Coordinate and maintain agreements/contracts with affiliated EMS education and clinical partners
Support development and execution of marketing and public relations initiatives to promote EMS programs
Engage community stakeholders, including students, parents, and partner organizations
Identify and support post-secondary and workforce pathway opportunities for students
Program Support & Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking equipment, supplies, and purchasing documentation
- Maintain program records, including inventory logs and reference materials
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to support EMS education requirements
- Assist with Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) activities, including competitions and events
- Participate in professional development activities and continuing education
- Maintain flexibility to support program needs, including schedule adjustments and class coverage
- Complete required organizational training (e.g., mini-bus certification) as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned

MANDATORY LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Valid State of Indiana certification as EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic
- Current Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor Certification (required)
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant EMS or clinical experience (Five (5) years preferred)
- Background in Career and Technical Education preferred
- Current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education in any Health Science and relevant Medical Terminology, and Anatomy and Physiology coursework or complete steps to obtain during first year of teaching
- Background in Career and Technical Education preferred
- Current AHA BLS Provider and Instructor certification
