Job Description
Overview
Shriners Children's has an opening for a per diem Speech Language Pathologist on our team in Twin Cities!
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) engages in the professional practice of communication and swallowing. The SLP recognizes the needs, abilities, values, preferences, interests of individuals and families to whom they provide clinical services, as well as, integrates those factors along with best current research evidence in making clinical decisions. The SLP provides individualized evaluations, treatments plans, family education and training, as well as, staff education and training to meet the communication and swallowing needs of their patients and families.
The pay range for this position is $32.34 hourly to $48.51 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.
Responsibilities
- Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing a comprehensive, patient and family-centered approach to decision making incorporating national standards and the AMA CPT codes.
- SLP will design, develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address presenting symptoms or concerns of a communication and/or swallowing problem or related functional issue to optimize function.
- Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, their families, care management, and community resources such as schools/outside therapy clinics, and actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings.
- Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate thorough documentation.

Qualifications
Required:
- Masters degree in Speech Pathology
- Licensed in state of practice
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's)
- CPR/BLS (per facility policy)
- Experience in the pediatric specialty of the hospital, which may include Outpatient, Inpatient Rehabilitation
Preferred:
- 1 year experience in a healthcare setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish
