About the Practice
Established, physician-owned interventional pain management practice seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner to join a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Focus is on efficient, evidence-based care, strong patient outcomes, and a high standard of patient experience.
Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions in an outpatient setting. This role requires clinical autonomy, procedural competency, efficiency, and strong communication skills. The position is primarily based in Abingdon with required travel to White Marsh 1–2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive new patient evaluations and follow-up visits
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physician
- Manage medication regimens, including controlled substances, in accordance with regulatory and clinical best practices
- Perform in-office procedures including:
- Trigger point injections
- Joint injections
- Bursa injections
- Document encounters accurately and efficiently in EMR
- Provide patient education on diagnoses, treatments, and expectations
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize workflow and patient experience
- Support practice initiatives including DME utilization and patient satisfaction metrics
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland
- DEA license required
- Experience in pain management preferred
- Experience performing minor office-based procedures strongly preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Efficient documentation and time management skills
- Willingness to travel between locations
