Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a seasoned VP of Finance to be a true strategic partner to the executive team and PE

sponsors. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with broad ownership across FP&A, Tax, and Treasury.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll sit alongside a strong VP of Accounting and together form the core

of Eagle Railcar's finance leadership. You'll lead a team of talented finance professionals, influence

enterprise-wide strategies, and be at the center of our M&A activity as we continue to grow through

acquisition. The right person thrives in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment and brings both analytical

horsepower and executive presence.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead enterprise-wide financial planning, including the annual Budget, in-year Reforecasts, and

the 3-year Strategic Plan

  • Drive monthly and quarterly financial analysis, delivering clear, actionable insights on financial

statements, KPIs, and business trends — with sharp executive-level variance explanations

  • Own the quarterly earnings process end-to-end: quarterly MD&A, board financial presentations,

and executive Q&A materials

  • Build and continuously improve the financial models and reporting frameworks that drive

decision-making across the business

Tax

  • Oversee all federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning

  • Oversee sales and use tax and property tax management

  • Partner with external advisors to ensure tax structuring is integrated into M&A diligence and

transaction planning

Treasury

  • Manage liquidity, cash forecasting, and working capital optimization

  • Oversee banking relationships, debt compliance, and covenant reporting

  • Support capital structure decisions in partnership with PE sponsors and lenders

M&A & Strategic Finance

  • Play a key role in evaluating acquisition targets — from financial diligence through integration

  • Partner with the CEO and board on strategic initiatives, capital allocation, and growth

investments

  • Translate complex financial data into clear narratives for sponsors and lenders

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and grow a team of direct reports spanning FP&A, Tax, and Treasury functions

  • Establish the processes, systems, and culture of a high-performing finance team

    WHAT YOU BRING

  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role

  • Deep FP&A expertise with a track record of building financial planning processes in complex

environments

  • Solid working knowledge of tax and treasury functions

  • Experience in a PE-backed company strongly preferred; M&A experience is a significant plus

  • Exceptional communication skills — you can distill complexity for any audience, from plant

managers to PE sponsors

  • A bias for action and a track record of driving results, not just reporting them

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred

  • Experience in industrials, manufacturing, transportation, or related sectors is a plus industries

WHY EAGLE RAILCAR

  • Seat at the table: You'll be a key voice in strategic decisions, not a back-office function

  • Real upside: PE-backed with equity participation opportunities tied to growth and exit

  • Growth trajectory: Active M&A pipeline means your role will evolve as the business scales

  • Flexibility: Hybrid-Remote with one-three days in office per week in Eastland, TX
