Louisiana Emergency Medicine locums focused on no trauma coverage across two sites, built around 12 hour shifts with day and night options that can align with your travel and block scheduling.

Practice Setting

• Emergency department coverage
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient touchpoints
• All ages patient population
• APP support, 12 hour coverage

Schedule

• Ongoing need for 12 hour shifts
• Day shifts and night shifts available, choose days, nights, or a mix
• No call responsibilities
• Please share your preferred shift pattern so we can present the right option

Cases and Procedures

• Full scope ED procedures including lines, airways, and chest tubes
• Case mix includes a higher psych volume than typical emergency departments

Workflow and Volume

• Main campus volume averages about 70 patients per 24 hours, with occasional higher days
• Cerner EMR

Credentialing

• Typical credentialing timeline is 60 to 90 days
• Background review is sensitive, minimal history is strongly preferred
• May consider waiting for license with an active IMLC LOQ

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Active Louisiana license, or active IMLC LOQ if you need to obtain Louisiana licensure
