About this job
Join an outpatient hospital setting in Effingham, IL as a traveling Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic interventions to help patients recover function and manage chronic conditions. Utilize therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, manual techniques, and physical modalities while collaborating with interdisciplinary staff to deliver patient-centered care. Document patient progress and maintain compliance with certifications, authorizations, and facility documentation procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist license required. This must be verifiable prior to the start of the assignment.
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience required.
- Outpatient physical therapy experience required.
- Active American Heart Association BLS (AHA) required.
- Work history and skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to Physical Therapy, required.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed with dates employed listed, required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising physical therapy assistants.
- Experience with a wide range of physical therapy techniques, including manual therapy and therapeutic modalities.
Assignment Details
- 40 Hour Guarantee.
- Shift hours: 08:00–16:30.
- Weekend requirement: No.
- Candidates with a permanent address within a 50-mile radius of the facility will not be considered.
- May be required to assist other department staff as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Impacting Patient Care
Provide comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized Plans of Care according to APTA standards and state requirements. Implement and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress. Maintain open communication with therapy staff, department staff, and referral sources. Support patient discharge planning with appropriate home exercise programs and caregiver instructions. Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and professional development activities.
