General Laborer ,Start Immediately, Weekly Pay

Job Description

This role supports a busy first-shift warehouse operation by handling material movement, order fulfillment, and customer support in a small, team-oriented environment. You will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a consistent 40-hour workweek and no weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, ensuring materials are handled with care.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, and organize materials throughout the warehouse.
• Use an RF scanner to track the movement of inventory and customer orders accurately.
• Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment, following instructions and documentation precisely.
• Interact with customers as needed to assist with orders, answer questions, and provide a positive service experience.
• Perform general labor tasks, including lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Handle material and inventory in a lumber-focused environment, maintaining organization and cleanliness in the warehouse.
• Work closely with a small team to support daily shipping and receiving activities and meet operational goals.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Experience using an RF scanner to track inventory and customer orders.
• Hands-on inventory experience, including handling, organizing, and tracking materials.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks, including safely lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and professional, approachable personality.
• Comfort working directly with customers to assist with orders and provide support.
• Reliability and punctuality to consistently work a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday.

• Interest in long-term growth and advancement within a warehouse or operations setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team and build strong working relationships over time.
• Comfort working in a lumber shipping environment, including exposure to warehouse and yard conditions.

Pay & Shift:

• $18/HR
• First shift Monday-Friday 6AM - 2:30 PM (No weekends, straight 40)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
