Physical Therapist - School Setting in Chesterfield, MO

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your passion for helping children thrive to an engaging contract opportunity providing physical therapy services in a welcoming elementary school environment near Chesterfield, MO. This summer assignment supports students in grades K–12, focusing on their mobility and gross motor development during the Extended School Year (ESY) program.

You’ll have a uniquely flexible summer schedule, working select mornings from June 25 through July 23, with additional approved hours for closing out the assignment. The school seeks a dedicated professional comfortable collaborating with a small caseload driven by student needs—around 175 minutes weekly, with roughly seven students last year (caseload details can be discussed during your interview).

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Current license to practice physical therapy in Missouri
• Previous school-based PT experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work effectively with children K–12, adapting interventions for diverse needs
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Strong organizational skills for managing therapy-related documentation and supporting transitions

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group physical therapy sessions supporting students’ IEP goals
• Assess student performance and maintain meticulous records
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and special education staff to maximize student progress
• Conclude the session by assisting with recordkeeping and therapy room organization on the last days

As part of your assignment, you will enjoy a regular morning schedule—Monday through Thursday, 7:45 am to 12:31 pm, with minimal afternoon or weekend responsibilities. Upon successful completion, you are eligible for contract renewal into the new school year in an Early Childhood setting.
