Job Details

Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data analysis.
Provide age-specific nursing interventions consistent with plan of care and standards of practice.

Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
Utilize standard work related to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
Precept and mentor novice employees.

Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and educational participation.
Float to assist in other like units as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

BLS certification (AHA only).
Nursys nursing license required within 30 days of start.
License/Certificate verification with primary source verification and state-specific registry.
Proof of MMR immunizations or titer with lab printout; no declinations accepted.
Hepatitis B proof of 3 vaccinations or titer with lab printout; no declinations accepted.
Driver's License or State ID copy required.
NRP certification (AHA only).
2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) testing with specified timing and negative results.
Proof of Varicella immunizations or titer with lab printout; no declinations accepted.
Social Security Card copy required.
McLeod Criminal Background Check within 60 days covering last 7 years, updated annually.
McLeod Employment Verification for 5 years.
McLeod Drug Screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start; rapid drug screen not accepted.

Unit Specific Information

Additional Details

Fit Test required for all travelers with make/model to be completed within a year of start (optional).
Influenza Vaccine required September to April; medical/religious exemptions considered case by case with physician or traveler statement.
Annual Negative PPD and Annual TB Questionnaire optional if 2 step PPD not done within past year.
Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 90 days of start.
