Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
This opportunity places you in a hospital-based practice, focusing exclusively on surgical cases. With an average of one surgical case per day, you’ll have the opportunity to provide focused, high-quality care. The position requires expertise in general plastic surgery, facial laceration repairs, scar revisions, skin grafts, and flaps. Your role will be pivotal in handling both routine and complex cases, contributing to a well-rounded surgical experience.
Schedule and Assignment Details
As a locum Plastic Surgeon, you will be on a 24-hour call schedule approximately 7 days per month, offering the flexibility to balance professional obligations with personal commitments. The assignment begins in September 2026, with the duration open-ended, providing continuity and stability for those seeking long-term engagement. Credentialing is expected to take between 90 to 120 days, ensuring a thorough integration into the healthcare team.
Support and Work Environment
Joining this healthcare team means working in a collaborative environment with substantial support. You will be the second Plastic Surgeon in the practice, ensuring that patient needs are met with expertise and care. The ancillary staff includes two Medical Assistants and a front desk support person, facilitating a seamless workflow and enabling you to focus on delivering exceptional surgical care.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Plastic Surgery is required.
- A completed Fellowship in Plastic Surgery.
- Active Michigan medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
