Job Description
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a significant impact as a school-based Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting K-12 students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract role is located onsite near Round Lake, IL, providing dedicated therapy services within a specialized educational setting. You’ll work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to address the varied needs of a diverse student population, empowering children to thrive in their learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois OT or COTA license required (please have documentation available when applying)
- Experience or training in school-based therapy settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Compassion for working with students in special education programs
- Ability to adapt therapy plans to support individual student goals
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions for K-12 students (caseload and grade levels assigned upon hire)
- Work onsite with students to enhance functional abilities necessary for academic success and daily living
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Document services, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with staff and families
- Attend new hire orientation August 12–14 to prepare for the upcoming school year
- Collaborate with educators and related service providers to support student needs within the classroom and throughout the school day
