Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic – Waco, TX

SUMMARY OF POSITION 

The Lead Technician is responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Project Manager. The Lead Technician must be appropriately certificated per Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR) under Part 65. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. This list is not all-inclusive and may be amended from time to time. 

• Supervising his/her department. 
• Coordinating work priorities. 
• Assigning work as required to ensure an on-time delivery for the Aircraft Services Rockford repair station, and an airworthy aircraft, article/product for the customer. 
• Record all data on forms, reports and inspection tags, and escalate all irregularities in the standard practices that could cause injury to personnel or make the aircraft not airworthy. 
• Ensure all overhauls, checks and repairs are carried out in accordance with procedures as required in applicable manuals. 
• Ensure FAA approved data is used for all repairs and rework on aircraft and components. 
• Ensure a high standard of workmanship is maintained and inform the inspection supervisor of faulty equipment and poor housekeeping practices that could make an unsafe work area. 
• Signing or stamping completed serviceable tag attached to all parts and units and ensures tag is properly completed. 
• Signing applicable paperwork prepared for units overhauled, repaired or functionally tested, and ensuring tag is completed correctly and accurately. 
• Other duties as directed/assigned by management. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. 
• Must have a minimum of 8 years of related experience and/or training. 
• Must have an approved FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification (A&P). 
• Heavy C,D experience required.
