Overview
Oversees the daily operations and management of hospice room and board services. Supervises staff, coordinates patient accommodations, ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, and supports the comfort and well-being of hospice patients in residential settings.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of Revenue Cycle Analysts, including inpatient Medicaid authorizations, facility invoicing and repricing, accounts payable reconciliation and approval, invoice submission, and inpatient day reconciliation.
- Achieve departmental objectives by supervising staff, organizing workloads, and monitoring work processes and procedures.
- Support financial planning by understanding the financial impact of Room & Board receivable and payable functions.
- Monitor invoice approvals and perform reconciliations to ensure accurate tie outs.
- Maintain financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls and established compliance standards.
- Protect organizational value by ensuring confidentiality and strict HIPAA compliance.
- Contribute to Revenue Cycle and organizational goals by completing related tasks and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Strengthen relationships with inpatient units through timely invoice confirmation and prompt payment processing.
- Review escalated accounts, investigate issues, determine appropriate next steps, and ensure timely resolution.
- Lead the team to operate efficiently, meet deadlines, and perform to industry standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in Hospice Room & Board processes, including invoice processing.
- Strong experience with multi‑state Medicaid.
- Experience in budgeting, process management, and accounting functions.
- Proficiency with financial software, forecasting, and accounting principles, including Statements of Financial Accounting Standards.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls.
- Exceptional thoroughness, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex financial processes.
- Skills in supervision, staffing, and team leadership.
