Job Description

The Great Library Co. is seeking a Product Designer to help shape user-centered experiences and contribute to the design of products that serve our customers.

Position Summary

As a Product Designer, you will design intuitive, high-quality product experiences from concept through execution. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to understand user needs, define requirements, and create solutions that are both usable and visually compelling.

You will bring ideas to life through clear design thinking, thoughtful interaction design, and strong attention to detail—helping to ensure the product experience is consistent, accessible, and aligned with our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to translate user needs and business objectives into design concepts and direction.

  • Create end-to-end product designs, including flows, interaction designs, wireframes, and polished UI visuals.

  • Iterate on designs through feedback, usability insights, and prototype testing to improve clarity and usability.

  • Develop and maintain design documentation to support alignment and consistent implementation.

  • Ensure design quality by considering accessibility, usability, and consistency across features and platforms.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience designing digital product experiences, with a portfolio demonstrating your design process and outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to translate needs into practical design solutions.

  • Proficiency in producing clear design artifacts (such as wireframes, prototypes, and UI concepts) for collaboration.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate design decisions clearly.

  • Strong attention to detail, including visual design fundamentals and interaction/flow consistency.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing complex products or platforms with multiple user journeys and use cases.

  • Familiarity with conducting or supporting usability testing and incorporating findings into design iterations.

  • Experience partnering closely with engineers to ensure designs are implementable and aligned to product requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design efforts and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.

  • Comfort contributing to design systems or maintaining consistency across reusable components.
