Responsibilities for the Ophthalmic Technician:
- Assist ophthalmologists in providing exceptional patient care
- Perform preliminary eye testing, including visual acuity, IOP checks, refraction, contact lens training and fitting, HVF testing, OCT, IOL Master, and topography
- Record accurate medical histories and maintain thorough documentation
- Educate patients on eye care procedures and treatment plans
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) experience with ModMed is a bonus!
- Support clinic efficiency and maintain a smooth patient flow
- Deliver excellent customer service and patient support
- Your COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) certification thats a big plus!
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Eagerness to learn and ability to quickly grasp new skills
- Professional, kind, and patient-centered communication style
- Experience with EHR systems (especially ModMed) preferred
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
