Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 2 years of perioperative experience and the ability to circulate, scrub, and recover patients in PACU.
Details
- Critical access, community-based acute care hospital setting
- Operating Room position encompassing perioperative care across all surgical phases: pre-op, intraoperative, and PACU recovery
- Candidate must be able to function in multiple roles including circulator, scrub nurse, and PACU RN
- Monday through Friday schedule with on-call requirements
- On-call rotation includes one night per week and every fourth weekend
- When on call, must be available to respond and be ready to begin a case within 30 minutes
Requirements
- Active Vermont or compact (multi-state) RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
- Ability to work across multiple perioperative roles (circulator, scrub, PACU)
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Additional Information
- Deliver perioperative nursing care across all surgical phases including pre-op preparation, intraoperative support, and PACU recovery
- Adhere to AORN standards and participate in surgical safety processes such as time-outs
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary surgical team
- Cross-training and skill development opportunities are available
- Travelers begin their assignment on Wednesdays
- DOB and SSN may be required for consideration
