Job Description:

The LVN is responsible for client admissions, screenings, medication administration, and the development of treatment plans. The LVN also provides nursing care, manages medical documentation, and supervises subordinate staff.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts client admissions, assessing their physical and psychological condition during intoxication, withdrawal, and stabilization.
  • Monitors client progress, maintains documentation, and makes referrals to physicians or emergency services as needed, including crisis interventions.
  • Develops individualized treatment plans, offers input on client needs and progress, and provides health education.
  • Delivers nursing care such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing first aid, specimen collection, and infection control.
  • Maintains and organizes all necessary documentation, including medication records, progress notes, client files, logbooks, and inventories of medical supplies.
  • Receives and transcribes physicians' orders.
  • Manages and monitors infection control measures.
  • Assists clinical staff with client education on STDs, HIV/AIDS, Smoking Cessation and prevention.


Job Qualifications:

  • A valid LVN license in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of healthcare experience.
  • Experience in venipuncture, TB skin testing, and current certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • Preferred experience in addiction, mental health, and behavioral health.
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is required upon hire or must be obtained within the required timeframe after starting employment.
