Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion position at an outpatient oncology clinic, requiring a minimum of 2 years of true chemo infusion experience and current chemo/biotherapy certification.
Details
- Outpatient infusion clinic setting with 56 infusion chairs
- Patient population includes outpatient chemotherapy, blood transfusions, enzyme replacement, Remicade infusions, multiple sclerosis infusions, and kidney transplant infusions
- High-volume clinic averaging 180–200 patients per day
- Staffing includes 2 NPs and 18–22 nurses daily, with a resource nurse and charge nurse on the floor
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts, 7a–7p
- Weekend shifts required
- 1 major holiday coverage required
- No on-call or standby requirement
- Travelers may be asked to float to other campus Infusion Centers when necessary
- EMR: Epic with Beacon module (experience preferred)
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and chemo/biotherapy card required
- Minimum 2 years of outpatient infusion experience required — must be true chemo infusion experience
- Ambulatory oncology experience required
- Epic/Beacon EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomy, injections, symptom management, focused assessments, and patient education
- Care coordination duties include scheduling follow-ups, arranging labs, and communicating with front desk staff and providers
- Clinical techs are available to assist with IV placement and blood draws
- Orientation is 1–2 weeks
- Navy scrubs required
- Travelers are expected to be flexible and contribute to a welcoming, relationship-centered environment for all patients
