Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience and ARRT-R certification for a cardiac interventional radiology assignment.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a hospital setting
  • 5x8 hour day shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Call requirement every 3rd week, Monday-Friday 5:00 PM-7:30 AM plus weekends and holidays for 24 hours
  • Uses Cerner and Merge PACS documentation systems
  • Perform procedures including angioplasty, aortography, chest tube placement, embolization, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement/removal, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, pelvic and renal angiography, selective visceral angiography, stent placement, and thoracentesis
  • Vascular studies/procedures include central venous access/port placement, dialysis graft creation/revision, and TIPS procedures
  • Genitourinary studies/procedures include catheter/drain exchange, cholecystostomy, embolization, biliary drainage, nephrostomy, and ureteral stent placement
  • Utilizes Siemens fluoroscopy equipment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist required
  • ARRT-R and BLS certifications required, ARRT-VI certification preferred
  • CT license required if applicable, candidates with license pending will be considered
  • First-time travelers considered only with extensive IR tech experience
  • Experience with equipment setup, sterile field maintenance, and access site preparation required
  • Proficiency in fluoroscopy equipment operation required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include equipment setup, sterile field maintenance, access site preparation, and supply stocking
  • Follows isolation precautions/PPE protocols and infection control sterile technique
  • Participates in rapid response/code team activations as needed
  • Maintains and operates PACS and interventional radiology equipment
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
