Contents Restoration Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Contents Restoration Technician to join our restoration team. This role is responsible for the handling, cleaning, inventorying, and restoration of personal and commercial property affected by fire, smoke, water, and post-construction conditions.
This position works as part of a crew under the direction of a Crew Lead or Project Manager, while also being trusted to complete assigned tasks independently. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, customer-focused, and capable of working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform residential and commercial pack-outs and pack-backs
- Accurately inventory, label, and track customer contents using company systems
- Clean and restore contents damaged by fire, smoke, water, and soot
- Perform specialty fire and smoke odor removal and detailing
- Assist with post-construction cleaning and final project turnover
- Handle, wrap, pack, and transport customer belongings with care and professionalism
- Operate cleaning and restoration equipment including HEPA vacuums, ozone/hydroxyl machines, and specialty cleaning tools
- Maintain accurate photo documentation and job notes
- Communicate professionally with Crew Leads, Project Managers, and customers when required
- Follow all company SOPs, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, trucks, and warehouse spaces
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position requires working in a variety of environments including residential homes, commercial properties, active construction sites, and warehouse facilities.
Employees must be able to:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Work in hot, cold, dusty, smoky, or otherwise contaminated environments
- Wear required PPE including respirators, gloves, and protective clothing
- Work around soot, smoke residue, mold remediation environments, and construction debris
- Climb ladders and safely navigate job sites
- Work occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background check
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Experience: No prior restoration experience required — training provided
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior restoration, cleaning, moving, or construction experience
- Familiarity with contents restoration or disaster recovery work
- Experience using inventory or tracking systems
- Comfort working in fast-paced, team-based field environments
