About the Position
LocumJobsOnline is working with Wellhart, LLC to find a qualified Emergency Medicine MD in Caribou, Maine, 04736!
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 22-day assignment in Maine, commencing Jun 16, 2026. This role involves varied coverage including 6:30a-6:15p and 5:30p-6:30a shifts, supported by Advanced Practice Providers. As a key member of a Trauma Facility, you will manage a busy emergency department, requiring proficiency in general emergency procedures and independent practice.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage patient care within a Trauma Facility with a 20k annual volume, operating as the busiest emergency department in Northern Maine.
- Perform general emergency department procedures including intubation, ventilation management, and placement of lines.
- Provide independent emergency medicine practice; urgent care and family medicine experience will not apply to this role.
- Handle varied case acuity, from high-volume low-acuity during summer to low-volume high-acuity during winter.
- Work alongside 6-8 hours of Advanced Practice Clinician coverage and 26 hours of MD coverage daily.
- Facilitate patient transfers to primary campuses.
