Job Description
Title: Plant Engineer - Mechanical
Location: New Florence, PA 15944
Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
Established in 2015, we are a power-generation operator that manages a state-of-the-art coal-fired waste facility built in 2004, employing roughly 135 people to support reliable baseload energy for the PJM grid. As the largest waste-coal plant in the U.S., we produce enough electricity for 650,000+ homes while reducing regional environmental impact through CFB combustion and mine-land reclamation. As we continue to grow, our facility in New Florence is seeking a Plant Engineer - Mechanical to support continuous operations by providing technical expertise for rotating and stationary equipment, project oversight, and hands-on troubleshooting with operations and maintenance teams.
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve as the primary technical resource for mechanical systems, including stationary and rotating equipment, piping, boilers, turbine generators, and auxiliary machinery
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve plant operating, safety, and mechanical issues to support continuous, reliable, and efficient power-plant operations
- Develop and implement procedures, predictive/preventive maintenance plans, and reliability improvement solutions to reduce maintenance costs and equipment failures
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical guidance to operations, maintenance teams, and contractors, supporting daily plant needs and project execution
- Plan and support outages, including work scoping, equipment refurbishment, parts re-engineering, and analysis through vibration, oil, and performance monitoring
What You Need for This Position
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 5+ years of power-plant or heavy industrial experience involving boilers, steam-cycle equipment, rotating machinery, and mechanical systems
- Hands-on expertise with pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, motors, gearboxes, and mechanical components such as bearings, seals, and couplings
- Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, outage planning, and equipment refurbishment
- Knowledge of industrial codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, OSHA)
What's In It for You
Full benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD/STD, 401k with matching) and more!
