American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring L&D, postpartum, and nursery experience.
Details\n- \n
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital setting \n
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM \n
- 12-hour shifts with 36 hours guaranteed per week \n
- Possible weekend shifts required \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- \n
- Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required at time of submission \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP, all through AHA and active at time of start \n
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required \n
- Postpartum and nursery experience required \n
- BSN degree preferred \n
- Skills checklist required within 1 year \n
- COVID vaccination card required if vaccinated \n

- Perform head-to-toe patient assessments and reassessments per policy \n
- Assess and manage patient pain using appropriate evaluation and management techniques \n
- Develop, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on patient response to treatment \n
- Provide age-appropriate care and medication administration following the five medication rights \n
- Educate patients and families on pain management and other care needs \n
- Maintain a safe patient care environment to reduce medical errors \n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and care coordination for patient needs and discharge planning \n
- Communicate effectively with unit leadership, colleagues, and physicians \n
- Maintain annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose waived testing \n
- Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested during the assignment \n
