Job Description

United Health Services Hospitals is a family of health service organizations that exists to improve the health of the communities we serve by developing and maintaining a comprehensive and cost-effective health care system. A not-for-profit organization, located in the Southern Tier of Upstate New York with Primary and Specialty Care offices in many locations throughout Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Tioga counties.

We are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our well-established and growing orthopedic practice. The selected candidate will focus on a high volume of operative trauma care, including complex fracture management, periarticular reconstruction, and both acute and post-traumatic surgical interventions in our Level II Trauma Center.

Our practice serves a strong regional referral base supported by a large, well-integrated primary care network, ensuring consistent patient volume and timely access to care. In response to the growing needs of our aging and active community, UHS Orthopedics is strategically focused on recruiting subspecialty-trained surgeons to expand and enhance the comprehensive services offered across the orthopedic service line.
The practice is comprised of a highly collaborative and subspecialized team, including:
  • 2 Total Joint Surgeons
  • 2 Sports Medicine Surgeons
  • 2 Trauma Surgeons
  • 1 Hand Surgeon
  • 3 Non-Operative Sports Medicine Physicians
UHS Orthopedics is committed to a team-based model of care and strongly supports the integration of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to optimize patient access, improve efficiency, and provide comprehensive clinical support to our surgeons.
Outstanding clinical and administrative support staff as well as excellent Physical Therapy support are provided in five different locations in our region.

LOCATION: Binghamton, NY is located 2.5 hours north of New York City and 1 hour from Syracuse, NY. A progressive college community town that offers a large healthcare presence, a safe living environment, and a diverse community with nearby lakes, ski resorts, golf courses, wineries, a symphony orchestra and an opera company.

The position includes a competitive starting salary of $685,000 to $965,000 plus a highly competitive sign-on bonus, annual bonus incentives, moving expenses, and a vast array of employment benefits including a robust retirement plan.

Formed in 1981 through the consolidation of three community hospitals, United Health Services Hospitals employs more than 6,000 people. As a teaching hospital, affiliated with the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and the Binghamton University Health Sciences Center, United Health Services Hospitals trains over 100 physicians per year in residency and fellowship programs.

As a community-based system, the values that guide decision-making and behavior should reflect the culture of its communities and what they expect from their health care system. These values place special demands on all who are part of United Health Services Hospitals.
