Job Title: Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech)
\n Job Summary:
\n A Mammography Technologist is responsible for operating specialized imaging equipment to perform diagnostic mammograms for the detection of breast cancer and other abnormalities. This role includes patient preparation, image acquisition, quality control, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

\n Key Responsibilities:
\n Patient Care & Preparation

\n Greet and prepare patients for procedures

\n Explain procedures and answer patient questions to ensure comfort and cooperation

\n Take patient medical histories relevant to the mammogram procedure

\n Mammogram Imaging

\n Operate mammography equipment to obtain high-quality images

\n Position patients correctly to capture clear and accurate images

\n Monitor image quality and retake images if necessary

\n Safety & Compliance

\n Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles

\n Maintain compliance with FDA MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) regulations

\n Keep accurate records of procedures performed

\n Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control

\n Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality control checks

\n Report equipment malfunctions and assist with maintenance

\n Ensure equipment is calibrated and functioning according to standards

\n Teamwork & Communication

\n Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers for image review and diagnosis

\n Document findings and maintain detailed patient records

\n Participate in continuing education and training sessions

\n Qualifications:
\n Education: Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program

\n Certification: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M)

\n Experience: Previous experience in mammography preferred but not always required

\n Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, technical proficiency with imaging equipment

\n Licensure & Certification by State (as of latest available data):
\n Most states require licensure or certification for mammography technologists, often through ARRT credentials and additional state-specific requirements.
