Safety
- The Shipping Supervisor maintains a clean safe environment enforcing safety protocols as well as doing periodic inspections of equipment and facilities to prevent accidents and hazardous situations
- Enforce all OSHA related requirements
- Reporting daily safety observations and keeping the departments focus on safety
Supervisory
- Directly supervises and coordinates all activities for ALL outgoing products and materials.
- Acts as a working supervisor alongside shipping personnel
- Works with Logistics Manager to be sure the department is staffed as required.
- Works with Logistics Manager to assign, direct, review and monitor work of staff to maximize safety and productivity
Shipping
- Schedule Truck Drivers’ runs in the most cost-efficient and time-saving manner possible. Review drivers’ logs daily.
- Supervise Forklift Operators in the daily routine of loading trucks neatly and to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
- Attend daily Scheduling Meeting and assist the Plant Scheduler in meeting our customers’ requirements.
- Develop strong rapport with various freight lines.
- Cycle count inventory to positively impact inventory accuracy
- Manage aged materials using FIFO and optimizing techniques
- Oversee all outgoing inspections
- Utilizes all resources to maximize throughput
- Utilizing the computer system to track on-time delivery
- Ensures shipping warehouse housekeeping and organization is at an acceptable level

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with a combination of the following:
- Two years’ experience as a Forklift Operator and/or Truck Driver.
- Previous shipping/receiving experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous experience in the corrugated box industry preferred.
- General knowledge of OSHA, SQF, & 6S standards
Preferred Skills
- Forklift Certified
- Demonstrated advanced skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other proprietary programs-Amtech).

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
