Seattle Choice Transport, an Amazon Freight Partner, is seeking recent CDL graduates to join our Driver Trainee Program. This program is designed to bridge the gap between CDL school and real-world trucking operations.

Unlike many carriers that place new drivers directly into trucks, we provide additional hands-on training focused on the skills needed to succeed in Amazon's fast-paced drop-and-hook environment.

Our goal is to develop safe, professional drivers who can build a long-term career with our company.

What You'll Learn

Our Driver Trainee Program includes additional training on:

• Advanced backing between trailers
• Coupling and uncoupling procedures
• Trailer inspections and DOT compliance
• Tandem and fifth-wheel adjustments
• Container and chassis operations
• Airline and electrical line management
• Amazon drop-and-hook operations
• Real-world yard and terminal procedures
• Hours of Service and ELD compliance

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle
• Haul Amazon freight using state-of-the-art equipment
• Perform drop-and-hook trailer movements
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies
• Complete assigned training and mentorship requirements
• Maintain professionalism with customers, dispatch, and fellow team members

Schedule

• 3-day work week
• 13-hour shifts
• Home daily or home every other day, depending on route assignment
• Consistent schedules available
• Weekend availability may be required

Pay and Career Progression

• $22.00 per hour
• Opportunity to increase to $23.00 per hour after 6 months by meeting company safety and performance standards
• Opportunity to increase to $24.00 per hour after 12 months by continuing to meet company safety and performance standards
• Regular performance and safety reviews

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Graduated from an accredited CDL training program
• Valid DOT Medical Card
• Ability to pass DOT drug screening
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass background screening
• Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
