The Subject Matter Expert Web Developer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of web-based applications within the NAVSUP Enterprise Web (NEW) ecosystem. The primary mission is to transform manual logistics processes into intelligent digital workflows and support the continuous expansion of the MyNAVSUP intranet and mobile application platforms.
- System Maintenance & Expansion: Perform daily maintenance, bug fixes, and performance tuning for the NEW environment to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Modernization & Migration: Support the modernization of legacy systems into web services, leveraging containerization (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud environments like AWS IL-6 or Flank Speed.
- Standards & Accessibility: Ensure all web products adhere to strict Navy web standards and accessibility (Section 508) requirements.
- Technical Advisory: Act as a technical lead, advising stakeholders on web architecture, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and integration with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Full-Stack Integration: Integrate diverse back-end data sources and databases into responsive, user-centric front-end interfaces using standard HTML/CSS and JavaScript practices.
Custom Application Development: Lead the development of custom software solutions for MyNAVSUP and related enterprise applications to streamline Navy supply chain and financial operations.
- US Citizenship and Active DoD Clearance
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+ CE) to meet Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 3-5 years specifically supporting DoD or Navy IT environments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, automated testing, and containerization technologies.
- Proficiency in modern web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, as well as frameworks such as PHP, ASP.NET, or Ruby on Rails.
- Deep understanding of n-tier web architecture, MVC patterns, and RESTful/SOAP APIs.
- Experience with database management (SQL/Oracle) and version control tools like Git.
- Familiarity with Navy logistics, supply chain management, or finance business processes is highly preferred.
The below listed pay range for this position is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The final offered salary will be influenced by a host of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
