Facilities Maintenance Assistant - Now Hiring

Our client, in South Burlington is seeking a facilities maintenance assistant to join their team. As a facilities maintenance worker, you will be part of the maintenance department.

What’s the Job?

Description: The Facilities Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the upkeep, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of company facilities and grounds. This position performs a variety of custodial, maintenance, material handling, and general labor duties to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, organized, and operational. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

Facility Maintenance and Repairs
 Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs.
 Replace damaged or stained ceiling tiles.
 Assist with basic painting, patching, and touch-up work.
 Report maintenance issues requiring specialized repairs.
 Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
 Assist maintenance technicians with repairs, installations, and facility projects.

Material Handling and Labor Support
 Load and unload materials, equipment, supplies, and deliveries.
 Move furniture, equipment, inventory, and other items throughout the facility.
 Assist maintenance personnel with lifting, transporting, and positioning heavy
materials.
 Set up and dismantle workstations, office areas, meeting rooms, and facility
equipment.
 Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as
authorized.
Housekeeping and Cleaning
 Maintain cleanliness of production, warehouse, office, and common areas.
 Clean spills, water leaks, and other hazards promptly to ensure a safe work
environment.
 Remove trash from designated collection points and transport it to disposal
areas.
 Collect and transport recyclable materials to designated recycling areas.
 Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors as required.
 Maintain cleanliness of entrances, walkways, and facility grounds.
Safety and Compliance
 Inspect and maintain eyewash stations according to company procedures.
 Perform routine visual inspections of fire extinguishers and report deficiencies.
 Ensure emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and safety equipment remain
accessible.
 Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
 Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
 Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and incidents immediately.
Grounds and Facility Appearance
 Assist with maintaining building appearance and facility grounds.
 Remove debris, snow, ice, and other hazards from walkways as required.
 Support seasonal facility maintenance activities.
 Assist with facility improvement projects and special assignments.

Additional Responsibilities
 Support facility moves, renovations, and organizational projects.
 Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working order.
 Keep maintenance storage areas organized and clean.
 Complete assigned work orders and tasks in a timely manner.
 Perform other duties as assigned by management.
