Job Summary and Qualifications
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, operates Cat-Scan equipment, positions patients to produce diagnostic radiographs in a safe manner and performs related duties
- Operates CT equipment to make radiographs, scans of designated portions of body. Adjusts equipment and patient to correct positions for each examination. Instructs and explains procedures to patients. Selects proper technical factors, on an individual patient basis.
- Performs reconstruction and special processing (CT Angio) of data. Evaluates completed radiographs/scans for positioning, technique and adequacy of examination.
- Closely observes patients, performs first aid, as necessary, confers with physician when requested exams appear at odds with the patient’s condition, and generally, maintains an acute awareness of any patient under his/her control.
- Ensures that all exams are entered appropriately, makes edits as required, moves exam to taken status and verifies for the radiologist to read with all required documents.
- Records and maintains exam information in CT log.
- Reviews Dosewatch reports and data as needed.
- Performs QC functions as required.
- Properly documents all medications used in the EMAR.
- Receives verbal orders for examinations from a responsible practitioner in keeping with the state license.
- Reviews the patient’s chart to obtain pertinent clinical history, correlative test results, and laboratory data and documents this information for the Radiologist.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- ARRT Registry required upon hire
- CT registry required within 12 months of employment start date
- CPI must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
