About this job
Under general direction, serves as the primary intake and screening specialist for designated human services programs; coordinates SSIS operations for the department; and leads compliance/reporting activities. Provides advanced case support, triage, and technical guidance to social services staff. Serves as backup support to the front desk when needed.
Typical schedule is 37.5 hours/week; however additional hours may be required but varies per workload demands.
Knowledge of human behavior. Knowledge of available community resources. Knowledge of child maltreatment and vulnerable adult reporting laws. Ability to lead groups. Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients. Ability to plan and organize work effectively. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Knowledge of interviewing techniques. Effective oral and written communication skills with the public, law enforcement, public health, other public agencies, and other county employees. Knowledge of Human Service delivery systems, as well as managed care organizations. Advanced knowledge of SSIS operations including user support, training, reporting, and security administration. Working knowledge of IV-E eligibility requirements and audit standards; ability to interpret court orders relative to program criteria. Knowledge of intake triage for child protection, vulnerable adult, mental health, and waiver programs; jurisdiction determination and routing. Applied knowledge of records retention and data privacy in human services environments.
Minimum High School Diploma/GED and (3) years progressively responsible clerical/case support in human services or related field. Associate’s degree preferred. Previous experience with intake/screening, SSIS, and records management preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must attend continuing education courses as appropriate.
Word processing and spreadsheet competency required. Willingness to learn additional software as needed for the position is required. Ability to learn and use required web-based programs required. Familiarity and ability to navigate web sites pertinent to the position.
