Job Description
Calm Trade Captain | Field Leader | Builder of Great Jobs
About LOYL Construction
LOYL Construction builds high-quality custom homes and renovations with a commitment to craftsmanship, accountability, and strong trade partnerships. Our goal is to run the best jobs in the market — where trades feel supported, clients feel confident, and projects finish with minimal rework and maximum pride.
We are looking for a Site Superintendent who takes ownership, protects the job, and leads with calm authority.
Position Overview
The Site Superintendent is the on-site leader responsible for executing projects to plan, on schedule, and to LOYL’s quality standards. This role ensures that trades have what they need, work is completed correctly the first time, and issues are escalated early — not hidden.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has come up through the trades and understands how real jobs run.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a seasoned trades professional who:
- Has 3-5+ years of direct trade experience
- Has run jobs or led crews in the field
- Resents rework and believes in doing it right the first time
- Can handle chaos but does not create chaos
- Pushes hard while remaining calm and steady
- Advocates for trades and removes friction quickly
- Respects both field and office collaboration
- Takes ownership publicly and resolves issues internally
- Escalates early instead of allowing drift
- Stays aligned with company standards and core values
This is not a reactive or emotional role. It is a steady, firm, accountable leadership role.
Core Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Execution
- Manage daily jobsite operations and sequencing
- Coordinate and support all trade professionals
- Ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications
- Spend the necessary time on site to walk details thoroughly
- Verify work before it becomes rework
- Stop work when necessary to protect quality and standards
Trade Advocacy & Accountability
- Ensure trades have what they need — materials, answers, access — promptly
- Address issues in real time rather than allowing delays
- Maintain strong working relationships with trade partners
- Uphold standards without humiliating or blaming
- Represent LOYL as a united team in all external conversations
Quality & Rework Prevention
- Review plans carefully before and during execution
- Confirm details with trades before installation begins
- Identify potential conflicts early
- Inspect work thoroughly and consistently
- Take responsibility for mistakes and lead solutions
Communication & Escalation
- Communicate clearly and proactively with Operations leadership
- Escalate risks or deviations early
- Work collaboratively with CAD, purchasing, and office teams
- Maintain clear job documentation and reporting
- Avoid surprises
Cultural Expectations
At LOYL Construction, we:
- Own issues as a team
- Avoid blame-shifting
- Escalate early
- Respect both field and office roles
- Operate with professionalism and calm authority
- Build jobs that trades are proud to work on
The right candidate will:
- Say “we’ll fix it” instead of “that’s their fault”
- Push for what trades need immediately
- Hold standards without drama
- Stay composed under pressure
- Operate with integrity even when no one is watching
What Success Looks Like
- Trades say LOYL jobs are their favorite jobs to work on
- Minimal rework and strong detail execution
- No surprise issues reaching leadership
- Clear, consistent communication between field and office
- Projects that move forward steadily without chaos
- Strong trust between Site Superintendent and Operations
Why This Role Matters
This position directly supports LOYL’s growth and long-term goals. A strong Site Superintendent protects margin, strengthens trade partnerships, and creates repeatable, scalable job execution.
This is a role for a builder who wants to run great jobs — not just complete them.
