Carrier Sales Coordinator

Duration: 3-6 months (Temporary Assignment)

Pay Rate: $25-$27/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Occasional Saturday or Sunday (once per month preferred, not required)

Position Summary

LHH is seeking a Carrier Sales Representative who would be responsible for sourcing carrier capacity and securing the best truck for each load while delivering excellent service to clients. This role focuses on daily carrier communication, rate negotiation, load tracking, and issue resolution to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced temporary role ideal for someone with logistics or transportation experience who communicates professionally by phone and email and can manage multiple transportation events simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and secure carrier capacity for assigned loads
  • Communicate with carriers throughout the day via phone and email
  • Negotiate competitive rates while maintaining service expectations
  • Track driver progress along routes and ensure loads are GPS/Macropoint tracked
  • Manage inbound and outbound load documentation for accuracy
  • Confirm future orders have complete pickup and delivery details in the system
  • Work directly with customers on upcoming orders and appointment scheduling
  • Analyze carrier performance to identify strengths, gaps, and coverage needs
  • Research and onboard new carriers; qualify carrier leads
  • Handle carrier requests, complaints, and pending claims
  • Minimize accessorial charges by addressing issues promptly
  • Resolve issues independently and escalate when necessary
  • Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency, cost, and service levels
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 1+ year of experience in logistics, transportation, or carrier sales
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build credibility with carriers and customers
  • Moderate Excel skills and ability to learn transportation systems quickly
