Commissioning Technician

We are seeking an experienced commissioning technician capable of completing tasks without supervision. The ideal candidate will have the ability to fully understand and interpret drawings, schematics, and diagrams. This skill level will be assessed and determined by lead personnel.

Responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, or software system issues on rail cars and establish a plan of action to resolve them.
• Conduct high potential and continuity testing, vehicle functional tests, visual inspections, dimensional inspections, and performance testing.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Verify full system and subsystem functionality of rail cars.
• Install or upgrade new hardware or software while ensuring safety and correctness.
• Repair or replace broken-down or damaged equipment.
• Perform visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspections of parts and equipment to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and quality standards. Create Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) if necessary.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of electro-mechanical assemblies to assure conformance to specifications, drawings, and workmanship standards.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Utilize multimeters, oscilloscopes, scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment to inspect parts and equipment.
• Record complete data findings in reports, trackers, sign-off sheets, and other documentation with a high degree of accuracy.

• Professional demeanor and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in an electrical mechanical environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds.
• Reliable means of transportation for commuting between locations.
• Consistent adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

• High school diploma required; AA/AS degree preferred.

The work environment is physically demanding and may require climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Technicians must have a reliable means of transportation to commute between multiple locations and be adaptable to flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime. The use of various measuring equipment is essential in this role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palmdale, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Palmdale,CA.
