Job Title: Shipping Associate
Job Description

The Shipping Associate accurately pulls customer orders, prepares all required shipping documents, and ensures fabric rolls are correctly labeled, packaged, and ready for pickup. This role works within an ERP system to schedule shipments, supports shipping and receiving activities, and helps maintain accurate inventory and shipping supply levels.

Responsibilities

  • Pull customer orders accurately and stage materials for shipment.
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and commercial invoices, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure fabric rolls and other materials are correctly labeled, wrapped, and packaged to meet customer and carrier requirements.
  • Work in the ERP system to schedule carrier pickups and update shipment information.
  • Verify that outgoing goods match customer sales orders and documentation before shipment.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Perform cycle counts to help maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor shipping supplies and notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed.
  • Operate a stand-up forklift safely to move, load, and unload materials when required.
  • Perform general production and general labor tasks in support of warehouse and shipping operations.
  • Lift and move materials, including fabric rolls, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the shipping and receiving department.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Ability to operate a stand-up forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work with an ERP system to schedule pickups and update shipment information.
  • Experience preparing shipping documents such as bills of lading and commercial invoices.
  • Ability to perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 lbs comfortably on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Comfort with general production and general labor tasks in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure outgoing goods match customer sales orders and documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar shipping associate role.
  • Familiarity with wrapping rolls of material and preparing textile products for shipment.
  • Basic understanding of shipping documentation requirements for different carriers and customers.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and warehouse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and priorities throughout the day.

Work Environment

The position involves standing for the majority of the shift, regularly lifting up to 30 lbs, operating a stand-up forklift, and performing general labor tasks. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with a focus on safety, organization, and teamwork.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $33.88/hr.
