Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students with significant needs in Substantially Separate Classrooms serving Kindergarten through 5th grade. This full-time, onsite contract position in Western Massachusetts is ideal for compassionate Special Education Teachers ready to make a meaningful difference and open to travel assignments.
As part of a dedicated team, you’ll work with students who have both cognitive and physical disabilities, including some non-verbal learners and those on the autism spectrum. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering a supportive, inclusive environment, ensuring every student receives an education tailored to their unique strengths.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience with substantially separate classrooms, preferred
- Skill in developing and implementing specially designed instruction
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience strongly preferred
- Comfort with students requiring toileting support
- Familiarity supporting students who are non-verbal or on the autism spectrum
- Capacity to collaborate with RBTs and other classroom support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligning with IEP goals
- Manage a classroom of students with varying and significant disabilities
- Utilize evidence-based strategies, including ABA, to foster communication and learning
- Provide or oversee toileting assistance
- Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and support staff
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom atmosphere
