JOB TITLE: Production Associate
JOB SUMMARY
This hourly position reports to the Shift Supervisor. The Production Associate assists machine operators, works at presses, removes and separates parts from scrap, assembles and packages parts, and operates equipment. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance and reliability.
• Work in a team environment, ensuring helpers understand their roles and safety precautions.
• Interpret company work orders and job control procedures accurately.
• Achieve and maintain production goals by working efficiently and requesting necessary materials.
• Package parts according to specifications, label appropriately, and move totes/skids to storage or the next operation.
• Ensure safety devices are in place and report unsafe behaviors or situations.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and blueprints.
• Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, and management.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to use a tape measure.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–6 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Standing and walking for 8–12 hours at a time.
• Moderate noise exposure.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and turning.
• Full use of both hands to handle tools, objects, and controls.
• Ability to perform close and distance vision tasks.
