Job Title: QC Technician
Job Description
The QC Technician ensures that products consistently meet defined quality standards by performing laboratory analyses, accurately recording and reporting results, and supporting the investigation and processing of quality-related deviations. This role helps ensure that manufactured products are safe, reliable, and compliant with internal and external requirements, ultimately promoting customer satisfaction and trust.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform routine quality control laboratory analyses by following established procedures and methods.
- Review and verify test results for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before submission.
- Prepare, execute, and document all testing activities in a clear, accurate, and timely manner to maintain data integrity.
- Identify, document, and report any quality deviations, including out-of-specification (OOS) results, in accordance with defined protocols.
- Conduct initial OOS testing and first-level investigations in line with standard operating procedures.
- Maintain assigned laboratory equipment by performing calibration, basic maintenance, and checks in compliance with GMP and safety standards.
- Analyze special or non-routine samples to support troubleshooting of laboratory issues or assist in resolving production-related quality concerns.
- Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure consistent application of quality standards and to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate findings and issues clearly to relevant stakeholders to support timely decision-making.
- Uphold a strong focus on safety, integrity, and accountability in all laboratory activities.
Essential Skills
- 1–2 years of quality control or laboratory experience.
- Quality control, QC, and quality assurance experience.
- Working knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail in testing and documentation.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and customer focus.
- Mindset of continuous improvement and strong safety awareness.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
- Food manufacturing experience, particularly in QC or laboratory settings, highly preferred.
Work Environment
This role operates in a dry powder manufacturing plant environment in New Ulm, MN. The position follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week with no overtime. The QC Technician works as part of a QA/QC team of five. The position is structured as a 12-month contract-to-hire role and has been created as an addition to the team.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
