Job Description
Responsible for coordinating production planning and procurement activities to ensure materials and services are available to support manufacturing schedules at optimal cost, quality, and delivery. This role requires strong coordination between demand planning, production, suppliers, and internal stakeholders in a fast-Paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Production & Materials Planning
- Develop and maintain production and material plans based on demand forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
- Generate and manage work orders and purchase requisitions to support manufacturing schedules.
- Monitor schedule adherence and proactively address material or capacity gaps.
Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Procure raw materials, components, and services in accordance with production requirements and approved suppliers.
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders; track order status and ensure on?time delivery.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, quality issues, and pricing discrepancies.
- Improve OTD and quality of parts from supplier.
Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with S&IOP and Warehouse team for scheduled shipping process.
- Monitor inventory KPIs such as turns, shortages, excess, and slow?moving materials.
- Perform regular reviews of planning parameters including lead times, lot sizes, and safety stock.
Systems & Data Management
- Utilize ERP/MRP/PLM systems (NetSuite and Arena) to manage planning and purchasing activities.
- Maintain accurate master data including BOMs, routings, pricing, and supplier information.
- Prepare reports on shortages, supplier performance, inventory status, and planning metrics.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.
- Support cost?reduction initiatives, including supplier negotiations and alternate sourcing.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Skills and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a combined planning and buying role within manufacturing
- Experience managing suppliers and supporting production schedules
- Hands?on experience with MRP/ERP systems
Skills & Competencies

- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain fundamentals
- Working knowledge of MRP, production planning, and purchasing practices
- Proficiency in ERP & PLM systems and Microsoft Excel
- Basic data analysis and reporting capabilities
