Job Description

This role focuses on assembling materials and building kits for packaging and shipment within a climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will work with raw materials, follow detailed work orders, and ensure each kit is accurate, complete, and ready for production or shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Move raw materials to replenish manufacturing lines and support continuous production flow.
  • Verify order information against paperwork to ensure accuracy before assembling kits.
  • Accurately pick, assemble, and package components into kits according to work orders and instructions.
  • Review work orders carefully and confirm all required items are included in each kit.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure each kit is accurate, complete, and meets standards.
  • Assist with inventory management by tracking materials and promptly reporting any shortages.
  • Gather, organize, and package items based on work instructions or work orders.
  • Use basic computer functions to review orders, update information, and support inventory tracking.
  • Cross-train in different departments to support various production and kitting operations as needed.
  • Follow safety and quality procedures while working on the manufacturing floor.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with assembly, including accurately building and organizing components into kits.
  • Proficiency in picking and packing materials for orders or production lines.
  • Ability to perform kitting tasks, including kitter and kit assembly responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate work instructions and order information.
  • Attention to detail for quality inspection and verification of order accuracy.
  • Ability to support inventory functions such as tracking materials and identifying shortages.
  • Capability to work in a production or general labor environment on a manufacturing floor.
  • Willingness to cross-train and work in different departments as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in packaging, kitting, or warehouse environments is helpful.
  • Experience in quality inspection or quality control processes is an advantage.
  • Comfort working around fabrication, assembly, and shipping operations.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and kits at once.

Work Environment

The role is based on a large manufacturing floor that includes fabrication, assembly, and shipping operations. The facility is climate-controlled, so it is not hot, but it can be a bit loud when machinery and welding equipment are running. Team members have access to an on-site clinic for medical needs such as medicine, check-ups, and screenings. There is an on-site gym and a track that wraps around the facility to support physical wellness. The facility offers multiple breakrooms with vending machines, microwaves, snack bars, and refrigerators, and each employee has their own locker. The organization operates as an employee-owned company with an ESOP and offers a 401(k) match. The culture includes regular shared meals, such as free lunches on certain days, and paid certification opportunities in welding for those who show interest. The schedule includes multiple breaks throughout the shift, including several short breaks and a longer lunch period.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.40/hr.
