Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance activities to support plant operations within a food service packaging manufacturing facility. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position requires strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance to support production operations
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose equipment issues and determine the appropriate corrective actions
  • Repair and install wiring circuits, transformers, motors, and control devices
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wire diagrams, and equipment prints
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities, including lubrication, measurements, and inspections
  • Maintain and troubleshoot gearboxes, conveyors, motors, timing systems, and alignment components
  • Monitor machinery performance through vibration, noise, and operational observations
  • Detect and report defective materials and abnormal equipment conditions
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and support housekeeping efforts
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools while maintaining high safety standards
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and other heavy equipment as required
  • Collaborate with team members and outside contractors to complete maintenance activities
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all plant safety requirements
  • Apply quality and safety standards to all maintenance tasks
  • Effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities

Required Skills:
  • Electrical circuit troubleshooting and schematic reading
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of gearboxes, conveyors, timing, alignment, and motors
  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to repair wiring circuits, transformers, and control devices
  • Ability to read tape measures to 1/16-inch accuracy
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Effective communication and coordination skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Sound judgment and planning abilities

High School Diploma or Technical School Education required
