Position Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) / Rapid Response Team (RRT)
Position Summary:
The Travel RN – ER/Rapid Response is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute illness, injury, or clinical deterioration. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in fast-paced emergency and critical care environments while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity.
- Rapidly identify and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Provide emergency nursing care for medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory emergencies.
- Participate in Rapid Response Team activations and provide critical interventions for deteriorating patients throughout the hospital.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to treatment.
- Assist with emergency procedures, resuscitations, and code situations.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
