Job Description – Travel RN - Operating Room (OR)
Position Summary:
The Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR RN works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
- Serve as a circulating nurse and, when qualified, assist in scrub roles as needed.
- Maintain a sterile and safe operating room environment.
- Coordinate surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process and advocate for patient safety.
- Assist the surgical team during a variety of procedures across multiple specialties.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and surgical activities in the electronic medical record.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
