Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 3 years of experience and ARDMS or CCI certification for a non-invasive cardiovascular unit in Peoria, IL.

Details
  • Non-invasive cardiovascular unit in an acute care hospital setting
  • Adult patient population, with proficiency in pediatric echocardiograms also required
  • Performs 2D echocardiograms, Doppler studies, stress echos, TEE assistance, and contrast echocardiography
  • Participates in mobile echo/vascular service regionally
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • Monday–Friday day shifts with flexible start times between 6:45 AM and 7:30 AM; 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Rotating call required, including weekends and holidays
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant Echo/Cardiac Sonography experience
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required
  • ARDMS certification required
  • CCI in Echocardiography required
  • BLS (AHA) required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Proficiency in recognizing cardiac abnormalities, imaging artifacts, and distinguishing normal from abnormal findings
  • Knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy required
  • Experience with M-Mode, color flow Doppler, pulsed and continuous-wave Doppler techniques required
  • Must be able to work proficiently with computers, software-driven testing machines, and digital archive systems
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • License required if applicable
Additional Information
  • Performs high-quality 2D ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels, including identification of EKG abnormalities and arrhythmias
  • Conducts and assists with dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and pharmacological/cardiolite stress testing
  • Evaluates left and right ventricular systolic and diastolic function and documents wall motion abnormalities
  • Recognizes congenital heart malformations, acquired pathologies, and outcomes of surgical procedures
  • Completes quarterly competencies in stress lab, Holter monitoring, and event monitoring
  • Correlates clinical history with exams and consults with cardiologists as needed
  • Participates in callback rotation
  • Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
  • RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
  • Candidates who have previously traveled to this facility may be subject to return restrictions
