American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a non-invasive cardiovascular unit, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience, ARDMS or CCI credentialing, and Epic EMR proficiency.

  • Non-invasive cardiovascular unit in an acute care hospital setting

  • Adult patient population with focus on cardiac imaging and stress testing
  • \n
  • Procedures include 2D echocardiography, Doppler studies (color flow, pulsed wave, continuous wave), M-Mode, contrast echocardiography, dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms, and TEE assistance
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
  • Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts with flexible start times between 6:45 AM and 7:30 AM (primary shift: 7:15 AM–3:45 PM)
  • \n
  • 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
  • \n
  • On-call rotation includes weekday callback (4:00 PM–7:00 AM) and rotating weekend on-call
  • \n
  • Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
  • \n
  • May float to affiliated hospital campuses within the health system

Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable echo/cardiac sonography experience
  • \n
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required
  • \n
  • ARDMS or CCI credentialing in Echocardiography required
  • \n
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
  • Proficiency with software-driven testing machines and digital archive systems
  • \n
  • Knowledge of gross and sectional cardiac anatomy
  • \n
  • Ability to recognize imaging artifacts and distinguish normal from abnormal cardiac findings
  • \n
  • Proficiency in pediatric echocardiography
  • \n
  • License required if applicable
  • \n
  • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Performs 2D echocardiographic studies across four windows (parasternal, apical, subcostal, suprasternal notch), Doppler assessments, M-Mode measurements, and contrast echocardiography
  • \n
  • Assists cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and stress testing (dobutamine, exercise, pharmacological, and cardiolite)
  • \n
  • Identifies EKG abnormalities and arrhythmias, including lethal arrhythmias, and escalates findings to the cardiologist as appropriate
  • \n
  • Correlates patient clinical history with exam findings and communicates results to the cardiologist in a timely manner
  • \n
  • Participates in mobile echo/vascular service regionally and in callback rotation
  • \n
  • Completes quarterly competencies in stress lab, Holter monitoring, and event monitoring
  • \n
  • RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
  • \n
  • Candidates who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 3 years of experience is required
