American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2+ years of experience, including required proficiency in cardiac/stress rest tests, HIDA, GI bleeds, and VQ scans, for a Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital in Rome, GA.
Details- Nuclear Medicine department within an acute care hospital setting featuring a Level 2 Trauma designation and an active residency program
- Adult-only patient population averaging 14 patients per day across 3 rooms
- Procedures include cardiac scans, stress rest tests, HIDA scans, renal scans, bone scans, VQ scans, GI bleeds, parathyroid with SPECT CT, and administration of I-131
- EMR: Epic (experience required); PACS: Philips
- Equipment includes Siemens CKM (required), Siemens Symbia S (required), and Siemens Prospecta (preferred)
- 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- On-call required Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until 6:00 PM
- On-call may be required when a holiday falls on a scheduled shift
- No floating required
- No weekend rotation required
- Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Active BLS and either ARRT or NMTCB certification required; license required if applicable
- Hard stop skills required: cardiac/stress rest tests, HIDA scans, GI bleeds, VQ scans, and IV insertion
- Proficiency with Siemens CKM and Siemens Symbia S required; Siemens Prospecta experience preferred
- Must be comfortable working independently as the sole Nuclear Medicine Technologist on shift
- 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Perform a broad range of Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures including cardiac, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, skeletal, and renal studies, as well as therapeutic administration of I-131
- Department support includes a Lead Tech, management, house transport, 2–3 Nuclear Medicine Techs on weekdays, 1 on weekends, and an RN available on weekends to assist with cardiac cases
- Rapid Response and Code Team available on-site
- New employee orientation (NEO) followed by 4 shifts of unit-specific orientation
- A final clinical interview with the department manager is required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- No radius rule for this Georgia facility — local candidates are welcome at the same rate
