  • Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
  • Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
  • Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Experience in the evaluation and treatment of acute medical conditions and injuries common to patients of all ages (e.g. chest pain, abdominal pain, infections, laceration repair, orthopedic injuries).
  • Experience in utilizing and interpreting common lab tests, EKGs and plain X-ray studies.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and Dignity Health Medical Staff by laws, policies on medical care (e.g. EMTALA, patient rights).
  • Familiarity with the methods of diagnosing and treating diseases and deficiency required.
  • Licensed physician in good standing (MD or DO)
  • Unrestricted DEA certification.
  • Privileged or eligible to obtain privileges in Family Practice, or any other specialty plus a minimum of one year experience in an acute setting that includes pediatric and adult patient care.
  • Dignity Health Board Certified
  • Current BLS certification
