Position Overview

Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Surgical Services team. The OR RN is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and evaluating nursing care provided to surgical patients throughout the perioperative continuum. Responsibilities include preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient assessment and care.

The nurse may function in the role of Circulator, Scrub Nurse, or both, while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for surgical patients.
• Perform preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient assessments.
• Function as a Circulating Nurse and/or Scrub Nurse as assigned.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately during surgical procedures.
• Accurately document patient care and procedural information.
• Participate in the facility's on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN State License
• Current BLS/BCLS Certification
• Recent Operating Room RN experience
• Strong OR Circulator experience
• Must be experienced and comfortable with Neurosurgery cases
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced perioperative environment

Required Certifications & Competencies

• BLS/BCLS Certification
• RN State License
• Core Mandatory Exam – Nursing
• Core Mandatory Part I
• Core Mandatory Part II (Nursing)
• Core Mandatory Part III
• RN – Pharmacology
• RN – Operating Room (OR)/Perioperative – Adult
• RN – Operating Room Acute
• RN – Operating Room Acute (Self-Assessment)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Da Vinci robotic surgery experience
• Experience working across multiple surgical specialties

Important Assignment Requirements

• Flu vaccination is required (No Exceptions)
• Candidates must reside outside the facility's 100-mile radius requirement
• Maximum of 3 requested days off (RTO) permitted during the 13-week assignment
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment
